Line Free Coins Led Me to Educational Game about Natural Disasters

It was December 21st, Line Free Coins offers in total 40 coins for 2 games. I need some coins to purchase stickers so I downloaded one. The first game I clicked was Soil: The Fighters Earthquake and Tsunami. Honestly at first I didn’t expect it to be a good game. What I thought was,”Ok,let’s just download this, give it a try for a lil bit and then claim the coins before uninstalling it”. But when I opened the game and see the team working on this game,I know that this game is legit.

I downloaded it from Google Play Store. The descriptions says "The number of natural disasters and victims is significally increasing in Asia and Pacific areas. A lot of people were suffering from the disaster, looking at the earthquake and tsunami back then in Aceh,2004 also the most recent disaster in Nepal,2015. Being prepared to face the possibility of natural disaster to minimize the risks is a must."

Basically in this game is telling us how to protect ourselves in case of earthquake and tsunami. Starting from the preparations like how to decorate our houses, what to be provided in each house in case of accident and disaster, which room is suitable for who,etc so that the evacuation during the disaster is easier, minimizing the damages and loss. Then how to react, how we response when the disaster occurs, what should we do,where to go,what to bring, assorting priorities during earthquake and the after-effect of the disaster. How to recover, what to think, etc etc.

Wrapped in fantasy, creating a fun educational game with the main caracter called "Tanah" or literally translated as "Soil". Tanah and her family moved into their new house in an area that is prone to earthquake and tsunami (since in some cases earthquake causes tsunami). The legend says that beneath the area lies a huge dragon which has destroyed the area a long time ago. The dragon caused a huge loss, however, then the dragon was defeated by The Brave and then burried into the soil. The Dragon is now resting under the soil, waiting for the right time to blow up the city again. During his wait he causes some earthquake as a warning to the mankind that soon his revenge will come. This dragon came into Tanah's dream when she was sleeping in her way to her new house she is moving in. In the game,Tanah holds responsibility of herself and the others (yes, the others) so that they are all safe during and after the disaster.

On her adventure in a shaky land to survive and save the others, some random character will be in her way (most of the time, the character who asks is the granny in the picture above) asking questions about something related to disaster survival. They are going places, even in a dragon cave. What are you doing there, grandma? xD
This game was released November 2015 by Opendream. It will be in English,Indonesian,Nepali and soon in other languages. It's still developing, when this blog is written, there are a lot of typo(s) in the story and instructions.also some minor mistakes like, when she has to go to the tool shop for the first time,I brought Tanah to talk to the cashier, the cashier said that Tanah has to search the stuffs by herself. and Tanah said "Yes,Sir" (here,it made us assume that the cashier is a male). But then, after she got all the stuffs except the safety helmet, she asked the cashier again, and the cashier said that the safety helemet is in his (?) husband and his (?) husband is going to the mountain at the moment,Tanah has to get the helmet from the husband. Then tanah refered the cashier as "ma'am". The cashier is supposed to be a woman, after all. No homo,it's typo.
There are about 20  stages to pass in the game, however, the instructions are not very clear. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out where should I take Tanah to achieve the goal. I accidentally killed her a lot of time too xD.
For example when the tsunami first occurs in the game, she has to run away to safe areas. Some signs are provided to guide her, but, there were also a lot of paths. As a player,I don't know where should I take Tanah to. Should I keep moving forward or should I keep going up. Also when avoiding tsunami, there were some blind spot that made me confused whether should Tanah jump or just casually walk. I decided to just walking forth... and Tanah dies xD
Once we failed to finish the stage,we have to start the stage from the beginning. No,not from the fist stage, but the stage we failed in. With the story and all,it takes time.
This game is worth trying,I've finished it and really learned a lot. I had fun too. The music is good,it gets the vibe. This game made me completely forgot about the coins I supposed to claim after downloading it (when I'm done playing, finished the entire story,I completely forgot and when I came back to claim my coins, the promotion is already over. I ended up not getting the coins. Hiks ;_;)
I enjoyed this game though. 4.5 out of 5. I hope they fix the typo(s) soon and add more elaborate instructions. If you want to know more, download the game,it's free!

Skincare Routine Mistakes Every Young Girl Should Know

Our skin condition right now is either something we have painstakingly archieved or something we were born with. Skin breakouts started to occur when a girl hits puberty,in most cases I know. My little sister, for example, she started to have oily skin and blackheads around her nose, then a little bumps. At that time she has to start maintaining her skin more specifically to balance out the breakouts from the working hormones. After that breakout, the skin condition won't go back to its condition when we were younger. Some girls, though, still has that baby smooth skin with nice texture and moist skin even after the puberty. All we have to do is to keep the balance, learn that basic Phenotype value = Genetics+Environment rule works on everything.

For all the young girls out there, there are skincare routine mistakes I did when I was younger. I didn't know what to do with my skin since my first breakouts. I am upset with the oils, the bumps, pimples, acnes, blackheads and other skin impurities. I am now slightly disappointed and regreting it all. Take a note and save yourself

1. Starting off WAY too early

I remember someone gave me a facial toner when I was 6 (or younger, maybe). I liked it,it was pink, cute, removes dirts from my face, and it smells good. I was using skin lotion for baby before,it did great job to keep my skin moisture, but since I got that toner I put the lotion away, because I got tired of it.

Oh no. What. Have. I. Done

My face started to get oily. Earlier than it should be. Other factors may be the makeup I put on. When I was a little,I used to participate to theatrical events. Dancing, group singing, and all. I need to put some makeup for the stage. My mom did her best to keep it minimum though.

My mom found that my skin started to show impurities. She stopped me from using that toner and put me back, sticking into my previous skincare routine. Using baby lotion and baby face powder, the one with no pigments on it.

What happened? When we were little, our skin was pure and delicate. But then we put on chemicals to our skin, made our skin works harder and then produces oils to protect itself. Before my skin protesting any further,my mom stopped me. However,my skin stays oily. That's when all the problems started.

2. Raging to blot the oil

Us with oily skin will know the greasy feeling. It was gross to me,one of my friend's mom saw my skin and was "Oh dear, why your face is so oily? Have you tried this? Take some,it will remove the oil and keep you looking fresh",hands me out a blotting paper when I was 8. I would make 2 sheets of blotting paper clears out until completely transparent. You know how oily my skin was. Again,my mom knows that blotting papers would do more harm than help, and my skincare products didn't work on my anymore,so she told me not to use blotting paper and bought me some facial foams and moisturizer for oily skin, plus some astringent (nah). Some formulas might me too harsh and makes our skin very dry that makes the skin produce more oil. It was a no-no

If you have oily skin, search some skincare to hydrate your skin, water based skincare. Not to make your skin extremely dry and matte, you'll need the dewy-ness,you need the oil. As you age,the oil will be decreasing and leave your skin dry. Dry skin is painful, sometimes stings, cracked. Oily skin feels greasy and uncomfortable. Its about balancing your skin. Not to oppose one but to balance out. Hydrate yourself.

On a sunny, hot days,we are all sweating. Those with oily skin would feel greasy and thought that I would be nice if they could wash their face so the greasiness disappear, right? No. Do not over cleanse your skin. Do not over exfoliate. Do not strip facial oil completely. That would make your skin dry and then even more oily.

3. Putting on acne treating gel to the uninfected areas

As pimples or even acne started to occur,I was so freaked out. I was 9 when I hit my first period. Every girls in my age still has smooth,acne-free skin. There I was, with a face full of cyst-like acne. My early breakouts were the WORST. Then I found salicylic acid based acne treating gel and I would put it on my entire face. Ikr,I was 9! Thinking that would prevent more acne and "kill" those acne below the epiderm so they won't pop to the surface. I was wrong

that's not how acne treating gel works

Put it only on the infected acne. On the bumps. It would help to boost the skin regeneration so new skin cells replaces the old one,the dead skin cells dried up and peel off, bring up the dried yellow part (infected area)

So it gradually flatten the bump. If you put in on your entire face, even on the smooth area,it does the same effect as over exfoliating

More..

Many more mistakes I've done. Anti-aging,collagen booster might sound interesting, but you are not going to need it until you are reaching mid twenties. Or else your natural collagen metabolism would messed up and leads to early aging. I tried some and stopped. It makes the healing phase slower. Post-acne scars couldn't be fully recovered.

all the mistakes = combination skin (super oily then super dry) + putting on too much acne treatment gel + uncomplete post-acne recovering = uneven skin texture and hyperpigmentation

Hormonal acne would be tamed after your period settled down, early phase might be madness. But,skin breakouts also occur because of internal decease. FYI,there is a map that acne on some certain areas are caused by the following

But acne and pimples on early puberty phase tend to occur on everywhere. Depends on your hormones. Don't be panic,if you don't have any mentioned problem, those acnes and pimples will disappear after your hormonal state stable. If you do,try to see dermatologist only after you reached 17 and see the doctors of your concern. Above it all, balanced skincare and healthy diets work wonder together

Love your skin more

[First Impression] Nectarine,Blue Cheese,Plum, and Red Cherry

Hello, everyone! How's the summer going? Even if it's still cold outside (anyone is still facing snow right now?),keep your heart summery :D

Marhaban Ya Ramadan to every muslims! Let's hope that this Ramadan we can go through the obstacles and be a better person afterwards :)
I'm writing about foods here, sorry, not to make you hungry nor salivating, but to give some ideas. You can have them for iftaar :)

So,I did some grocery shopping and bought some unusual items for iftaar. Well.not really unusual, but these items I mentioned in this post can't be found easily around here. Some people might not familiar with the following items

1. Nectarine (Prunus persica)

"Peach and nectarines are the same species, even though they are regarded commercially as different fruits. In contrast to peaches, whose fruits present the characteristic fuzz on the skin, nectarines are characterized by the absence of fruit-skin trichomes (fuzz-less fruit); genetic studies suggest nectarines are produced due to a recessive allele, whereas peaches are produced from a dominant allele for fuzzy skin"- Wikipedia
Me personally didn't know this one until recently. Basically,it's a peach. But it slightly sweeter and the flesh is more tender and juicy. Do notice that peaches and nectarines are pretty much the same but nectarine tends to be more pricey. Kids will like this though.

2. Blue Cheese

"Blue cheese is a general classification of cheeses that have had cultures of the mold Penicillium added so that the final product is spotted or veined throughout with blue, blue-grey, blue-green, or blue-brown mold and carries a distinct smell, either from that or various specially cultivated bacteria. Some blue cheeses are injected with spores before the curds form and others have spores mixed in with the curds after they form. Blue cheeses are typically aged in a temperature-controlled environment such as a cave. Blue cheese can be eaten by itself or can be spread, crumbled or melted into or over foods."- Wikipedia

Friendly remember that Blue Cheese has a strong smell. Some people find it bad, but, different culture carries different tolerance. I've tried durians, pete (Parkia speciosa), and jengkol (Archidendron pauciflorum) and they smell okay for me. But Blue Cheeese? Sorry, this cheese made my olfactory senses did some back flips. In the markets, they sell different kind of blue cheese, with different strength. Search for the the mild one. My lil bro unknowingly grabbed the strongest one. So the first blue cheese I've ever tried,is very, very smelly. Which is very unfortunate,it smells bad despite the great taste. In my opinion.

"The smell of this food is due both to the mold and to types of bacteria encouraged to grow on the cheese: for example, the bacterium Brevibacterium linens is responsible for the smell of many blue cheeses, as well as foot odor and other human body odors"-Wikipedia. Surprise! Sorry not sorry, lol,it's good, but try on your own risk. Do not eat this before going to the religious place,or even going out to public. I can't imagine eating blue cheese and then wrecking everyone's focus because of my bad breath.

imagine this happens in congregational praying in mosque
The Imam: (reading Al-Fatihah)
me : "Aamiin" *spreading out the blue cheese smell*
not funny. The smell won't go away even after brushing the teeth. Trust me. So in this Ramadan,do not eat blue cheese before tarawih. You have been warned.

However,it's a good source of protein and calcium, like the other processed milk products. The smelly mold is an anti-inflammatory properties and is good for your heart. Also contains anti-ageing properties so you can age well. For girls, there is a secret bonus from eating blue cheese! Find it out yourself :)

3. Plum

I 've heard the rave about this beauty. See the colour until the benefits. I've tried prunes but I glad I was finally get to eat the fresh version lol
I accidentally cut the peel when I was trying to remove the plastic wraps so I sliced it for the photograph, you can see the texture here. It is sweet and sour, the sourness is mild so don't worry. Sweet and soft enough for your baby. Plus, who can resist a fruit with anti-oxidant agent?

4. Red Cherry

It's different from the regular cherry we found on cakes. You know, the black forrest cherry thingy, that often tastes artificial (or is it?). This one tastes like juwet (Syzygium Cumini) but minus the astringent feel. I washed the blue cheese down with plum and red cherry and it helps to eliminate the bad smell. Saved my day

The blue cheese was really no joke anyway,I'm searching ways to clear it up but not to throw it away just because of the bad smell. Any ideas? Or I just scoop it out little by little,I need the benefits anyway ahahah. Happy Holiday!

[Personal Experience] Dengue Fever

Hello everyone!

Now it's May 13rd 2015,5pm
I am graduating in 17 days
But I have to be admitted to the hospital
Due to dengue fever 💔

I was that healthy girl who came back and forth to the hospital because I had to take care of my lil bro who was (also) infected by dengue virus. 2 weeks after my bro discharged (today, it's only been 2 weeks),I am going to enter the room at the same hospital.

I feel so bad to my parents, they stays up all nights to check up my temperature

Update [Current time: May 19th 2015. 07.32 pm]

Silly me for thinking that I could finish a blogpost during the critical night. Anyway, here is the chronology

May 10th 2015
Everything was alright until dinner was ready. The dizziness occurred and my body temperature started to rise. I told my mom that I need some paracetamol and some rest. One paracetamol works every 4 hours,so my mom had to check again at midnight. The restless nights for my parents and I started that night. My mom checked back my temperature and it was 39 degrees celcius,I took one more paracetamol and went to sleep

May 11st 2015
Still thinking that was only a fever due to stress or sleep deficiency, true that 2 weeks ago (on 23rd April to be exact) my lil bro infected dengue fever. But we suspected the carrier vector (read: the mosquito) to be somewhere else but our house. Because it takes 2-3 days for the infected body to start showing high fever since the bite and my lil bro had been traveling to Malang so the fogging request couldn't be granted by my parents and thus,I didn't expect that I would be infected too.
The fever was still high. 38 degrees all day long and at night it rises to... 40.4 degrees celcius :'v
So I was brought to the emergency ward that night. It was too early to conduct a blood test because of the fever,so I was given some paracetamols and antibiotics to be consumed until the following 2 days.

When we get fever, the one which rises drastically,we would be given paracetamol and antibiotics, but if the fever is not going down after more than 3 days,we have to do a blood test for thyphii and dengue fever

May 13rd 2015

Okay I skipped the 12nd because the fever was still the same as the 11st,13rd May morning I went to do a blood test. That noon,my dad went home with the blood test result with him and told me that I was positive with dengue fever. My platelet on the first blood test was 178? It was low already, normal one 300 leh. Oh God,the day when I finally feeling better,I had to be bed ridden for certain days to be monitored and given some treatments. Since dengue fever can be dangerous.
One of the symptoms of the dengue fever is some skin rashes, and it's not happening to everyone. My bro didn't get any rashes so please be aware. I got a little rashes going on my palm though

Is it shown in the picture? It wasn't that visible and it only lasts for a day.

May 13rd 2015 5 pm I was waiting for the room at the ER. Man that was intense! I know my fever was not that bad but what happens at the ER made me want to go home faster.

I was lying on the bed, waiting, and installed the infusion. One on my right side was a middle aged man whose nail was broken. He sounded very bright despite the pain he had. Thank God his treatment was fast and he gets to go home at the moment. Then on my left side there was auntie who just fell down from the ladder? She was holding towel to prevent her blood from leaking more, blood keeps coming out from her head. I was crying a little when her son told the story, noo,I was already transferred to the room before her treatment finished. Those who works at the ER must be mentally strong, stable, and supporting seriously, that was intense.

Ok back to the dengue fever, once I got into the room,my mom called my aunt to buy me some date juice. Date Juice, that sweet fruit from Arab, date, kurma. My mom gave me 2 tablespoonful of date juice immediately before I went to sleep. Thank you, auntie, thank you mom!

Well, dates can be too sweet for some people. I'm also not sure, because the serving suggestion regarding Rasulullah is only 3 pieces, enough for a whole day. The date juice serving suggestion is 1-2 tablespoonful and I think it's not that dangerous for those with diabetes? It helps to boost up the platelet restoration moreover.

May 14th 2015
I spent the day eating at the hospital. The rashes on my skin disappeared. Oh and someone with dengue fever shouldn't move a lot. Keep the movement to the minimum,so I tried my best not to move around. Appetite tends to get worse, smaller and smaller, but we need to eat for generous amount. It was only the second day and my body temperature was already normal and my platelet rises to 188. For some people it takes days for the platelet to increase. My bro took 3 days to reach 116. For a 15 yo boy with height of 177 cm and weight of 112 kg,his platelet once reached 73.the next day it rises to 100 then 116 and 180.

I think it was thank to the date juices, and bunch of drinks, and the guava juices. Please look for the real juices, not the artificial one. It works.

in the next day,my platelet reaches 200 and I went home after being hospitalized for 4 days in total.
I am okay now,but my appetite is still small, light dizziness still occurrs sometimes

Summary

1. Take care of your health and your loved ones. An ordinary fever would disappear in 3 days max. more than that, please see the doctor. Or go see one if the temperature rises above 39. Some body cells died at high temperature so it's risky.
2.  If there is someone around you who is being infected by the dengue fever, please do a fogging immediately to eliminate the virus vector as early as possible. Tell the hospital to make a fogging permission on your neighborhood
3. 1-2 tablespoonful of date juice won't harm anyone. Have some to help increase the platelet
4. Have plenty of rest and drink a lot of water
